About Me, and my obsession..

January 8th, 2008 Leave a comment Go to comments

I am a forty-something year old frustrated wanna-be astronaut. I grew up with the Apollo missions going strong. and I was sure by the time I was 30 we would be living on Mars… or at the very least, the moon.

I believe the Apollo A7L, aside from the mighty Saturn V that carried it, is the biggest advancement in technology of the twentieth century. Its always been  a dream to put one on and step of the ladder of a LEM.

    David,
I came home tonight from the Kennedy Space Center (which I visit a lot). I got the chance to see Endeavor on the launchpad and Atlantis flew right over the condo I was staying in at Daytona Beach. I had a great day and got home and did a search for the Apollo Helmet that I always wanted. I almost fainted when I found your website.

I’ve donated paintings in the past to the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation. Check out my website. It’s still not finished yet. I’m interested in maybe buying a helmet from you. Would you be open to also trading two Gliceés of my paintings as well as cash? Just a thought.

Great job on the suits. Keep up the great work and it’s a pleasure to find someone who is passionate about the Apollo space suits.

Came across your website. Fantastic work on your suit! I am looking for a pattern for the In-Flight Coverall Garment (ICG) 2 piece. The one that was previously offered to the mass market is very low budget I am told and the ones produced for Hollywood Movies is way over my budget. I would enjoy building my own. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

I’ve been observing your archives with great interest. Your dedication to detail is inspiring. As I think I have mentioned in an earlier correspondence, I’d like to at least purchase an Apollo suit, either in increments, or as a completed package.
At this particular time I am interested in the purchase of complementary neck rings.

When you consider the documentaries and movies, very little has been afforded to address the impossible engineering that has gone into the life support units for the Apollo project. I best cut myself short for now. I am prepared to offer immediate payment for available bits and pieces, assuming they are available for sale.
    Thank you for your consideration!!!

It’s been my dream for a long time to get a replica suit made like the ones Gene Cernan and Jack Schmitt used on Apollo-17, put it on and and have a professional photo taken just like the crews did for their mission photos. I’m sure you’ve been asked this question alot, but what would you charge to make one for myself? I know it would’nt be cheap, but something made with this type of detail and quality would’nt be expected to be. Thanks for a reply and your replica suit looks fantastic!
